Longish weekend update
Cyberia, despite being totally bereft of numbers on Friday, was very good fun :) I was chuffed with my sets, despite my usual haze of drunkenness towards the end, and everyone else played damn fine stuff! Also made the acquaintance of a rather stunning girl, but that's all I'm gonna say :D Saturday was spent feeling all floaty and chilled-out, until I had a steak sarny from the Auld hoose. Still felt chilled-out, just not particularly floaty for obvious reasons :P Ascension COULD have been a good laugh if it wasn't for (a) the 'air conditioning unit' consisting of an extractor fan that pretty-much just circulated warm air around the venue. Better than last time, but still not cool enough for some good dancage. (b) was the sheer amount of moshers and chavs that found their way in to the club. Bunch of annoying ignorant wankers. James playing some proper cheesy eighties metal for the crack was ace though :D. Next time, Twisted Sister WILL be requested. Hells yeah!
Today was mostly spent in bed. Was kind of chilled-out again, but I also discovered that Frank Miller of Projekt 2501, VNV Nation and Combichrist fame had lost his fight against brain cancer. Don't quite know why (let's face it, we all know someone who's died of cancer - I never even knew the guy), but it actually made me feel really sad. Just seems like such a tragedy that it happened to such an awesome and creative guy, and he's going to leave so many people behind who'll miss him so much.
